What is a Public Adjuster?
A public adjuster is a licensed insurance professional who represents you, the policyholder, in property damage claims—not the insurance company. Their role is to assess the damage, interpret your policy, file the claim, and negotiate directly with your insurer to ensure you receive the maximum payout you’re entitled to. The benefit of hiring a public adjuster is peace of mind and a better financial outcome—they handle the complex process for you and often recover significantly more than homeowners can on their own.
Will filing a claim for my roof raise my premiums?
There are many factors involved (claim history, type of policy, etc.); however, hail and wind claims are considered “Acts of God” or “No Fault” by their very nature. Because of this, most insurers in Arizona have already factored these losses into your current premiums.
In the event of widespread catastrophic losses, homeowner premiums could go up among all policyholders — but these increases would not be due to any one specific claim.
So although no one can promise that rates won’t increase, we recommend policyholders receive the benefits of their policy if they have a valid loss.
What if my roof is not approved or is only partially approved?
As your public adjuster, J&S will work diligently to get your entire roof approved. If the insurance only approves a portion (such as 50%) of your roof, we’ll submit the necessary paperwork (a supplement) to the insurance company with supporting data to request full replacement.
If they still deny it, we’ll present you with options to keep fighting — or you may choose to pay for the remaining portions yourself.
The great part is that we’re working to secure proceeds you’re already entitled to.
What is my total “out-of-pocket” cost?
Your total out-of-pocket cost is simply your deductible.

Can I just buy a roof without insurance?
Yes! If you’d like an estimate for your roof aside from your homeowner’s insurance, we’d be happy to provide you with a very competitive bid.
How long does this process take?
The claims process will vary depending on your insurance company. We work aggressively to make the process as quick and painless as possible.
Most claims are completed in 2–4 weeks. We’ll file the claim, interface with your insurance, and promptly provide them with everything needed to extend coverage.
We handle the paperwork — you relax and choose your roof, and we’ll do the rest.
Will I get a warranty?
Yes! J&S is a licensed, bonded, and insured General Contractor. We provide all state-required workmanship warranties, as well as manufacturer warranties for the products used on your roof.
What if I’m not with the same insurance company I had when the storm happened?
The insurance company that had a policy in place at the time of a wind or hail event maintains responsibility to cover the property throughout its reporting period — usually up to 2 years.
J&S will pursue valid claims with your old insurance company, even if you’re no longer with them.
